Candidates can be funny

Although it didn't happen in 2004, it's been a tradition that both Presidential candidates speak at the Alfred E. Smith held memorial dinner each election year. The expectations are that they give solid speeches with an emphasis on humor. Al Smith, for reference, was the first catholic candidate for President, and although he didn't win, he broke a barrier. Both McCain and Obama were in fine form last night, and I'd say McCain was a little funnier than the Senator from Illinois, and his tribute to his opponent was well written and touching. Here's both videos.

(took McCain's from FoxNews and Obama's from MSNBC, obviously...)
